![]() ![]() Most foundry PDK's including the internal company owned one my employer uses for our foundry makes PDK variants for both. However, I will say that I do find the utter freedom and control I have over an ADS model to be quite helpful however at the same time that can be the bad thing about it too the more complex a design gets (like a mutli-stage HPA consisting of many GaN Transistors for example). ![]() Now that MWO is part of the Cadence family they are linking it more and more to other Cadence tools which is very commonly used by many large organizations for layout work. ![]() So, in terms of simulation and design quality they will output the same thing which is important and to me narrows it down to preference and existing tool capability along with design-to-layout process. I have done complex evaluations of both in the past and when it came to actually generating results, they were both 1:1. I work mainly in MMIC design and multi-substrate/multi-ceramic modules and over the years I have found that using AWRDE and the microwave office environment is preferable. ![]()
